Hey Reader,
Today is a special day 😊 It's either the longest or the shortest day of the year, depending on where you live.
It's the solstice!
It's also Father's Day in the Unite States. What an alignment!
For me in Australia, it's the Winter Solstice. The longest night of the year.
We plan to celebrate it with campfire and marshmallows 😋 And guitar songs by the fire.
I hope you have a beautiful day! ✨
With that, welcome to this week's DRAW Newsletter! ☀️

Yay, let's DRAW!

D: Drawing
This is the first time I made a coloring page "on purpose" 😄
Our members at the Happy Creators Collective have been asking for a coloring page project for weeks, so I decided it's time to make it happen!
I loooooved the process!
It's so fun to create different worlds using just lines 🥰
In some ways, working with only lines creates space for richer storytelling.
For example, if there is blank space on the page and it's filled with blue, we know it's the sky.
But for a coloring pages, when we want to show "sky", we need to add fluffy clouds, sun, birds... elements that tell the viewer it's the sky 😊
For this coloring page 👇 I decided to tell the story of a little white mouse, named Ginnie.
Earlier this year, I shared my "Eduard the Artsy Eggplant" character, who is part of my Garden Cuties universe.
So Ginnie is Eddie's sidekick 🍆🐭
She keeps him out for trouble (cause he is often distracted and forgets things 😆). And during her rest times, she loves to cozy up in a little nook and read a book.
(I am contemplating a whole coloring book of "Ginnie's Adventures" 😊)
Here are early sketches of Eddy. Can you spot a little white mouse? 😉
Our HCC members created their own cozy corners too. So sweet!

R: Resource
My current project outside of art-making is setting up my new studio space 😊
I shared some quick videos on Instagram about the process.
At this point, I've moved my equipment, but....
Next step is setting up the actual background and making everything look pretty. Like my creative stage 😄
I way-way-way overthink this step 😅 Can you relate?
I obsess over things being perfectly aligned. It's paralyzing.
So this time, I reminded myself: ask for help from those who've come before you.
I learned this from a book called "Who Not How", which I would like to share with you for this week's Resource.

A: Affirmation
To help me set up my studio, I asked a friend to come over.
Her house always looks beautiful.
Her Instagram feed look beautiful.
Her clothes and personal style are beautiful.
So I figured, she is my "who".
After half-a-day of moving things around in the studio, I told my friend that I feel exhausted 😂
She answered, "What do you mean? This is fun! Thank you for this opportunity!"
Whaaat?!!!!
This can be fun?!
It was a total reframe in my mind.
In that moment, I realized that my friend's house is beautiful because she ENJOYS the process!
And because she enjoys the process, she does it a lot 😁
I also realized that designing a filming set is just like designing an artwork.
There is planning and process.
And in the end, something beautiful comes out.
So here is this week's affirmation, when facing a challenging task:
This can be fun! Enjoy the process.
W: Wonder
Here is this week's question to wonder about:
I wonder... What do I need to think, feel, believe to make the process fun and enjoyable?
Have a beautiful week! ❤️
With love,
Tatyana
