Over the past 4 years, our creative community at the Kawaii Drawing Club® has grown and evolved...

It supported hundreds of people on their journey of creative self-discovery.

Today, it's totally different from where we began.

So, to reflect this change and a kind of a maturity...

...🥁 we'll be changing the name of our community from Kawaii Drawing Club to:

✨ Happy Creators Collective ✨

I'll share more details as things unfold. But I really wanted to share that it's coming, because I am so EXCITED about it!

D: Drawing

If you live in the Northern hemisphere, you are probably preparing for the Fall and you might welcome the cooler weather.

Even though I am in Australia and we are just starting to get glimpses of warmth, I am still enjoying the Fall-themed drawings we are doing at the Kawaii Drawing Club® 😊.

This was our recent KDC tutorial, where we learned how to plan, design, and draw an Autumn wreath.

It would make such a beautiful decoration for the home!

R: Resource

My dance teacher game me homework: find music I like.

Simple, right?

But I really struggled with it 😅.

Well, I have an interesting relationship with music... I get REALLY into it.

It's hard for me have background music on while I draw... because then I stop drawing and just keep listening 😆.

Plus, lyrics are SUPER important to me. If it's something I don't agree with, I switch off.

So you can see why this "homework" was so difficult.

After 2 weeks of searching and testing, I found an artist I really REALLY enjoy! This "resource" not directly drawing-related, but it's super inspiring and I really wanted to share it with you.

The artist is called Young Mozart. Have you heard of it?

I am obsessed.

It's a beautiful blend of classical, techno, hip hop...

I hope you will enjoy it for some creative inspiration!

A: Affirmation

Change is uncomfortable...

Changing our community name sounds super-simple on the surface, but it's definitely shaking things up. Especially internally, in my heart ❤️.

It's a bit of an emotional rollercoaster 🎢, with feelings that go from:

"OMG, this is so exciting and it feels so aligned!"

To:

"What am I doing? Is this a mistake? Am I breaking something that's working?"

The truth is, NOT changing doesn't feel exciting at all (maybe safe, but not exciting). It feels passé.

The new name and direction feel expansive and elevating. Every time I think about it, my heart sings.

I've been reflecting on this a lot... and I came to realize that this change, while scary and uncomfortable, is actually super energizing!

So here is this week's affirmation:​
