Yay, let's DRAW! 🧑‍🎨

D: Drawing

The secret to choosing good colors for your art (if you are coming up with the color palette yourself) is solid knowledge of the color theory.

I am NOT talking about a color wheel 😄

That's only a small part of it.

I am talking about seeing color as a 3-dimensional space:

  • Hue - what color of the rainbow is it
  • Value - how light or dark
  • Chroma - how intense is the color (also referred to as saturation)

When you master these 3 dimensions, you can match ANY color!

It gives you freedom and power in your art.

This is the lesson we just completed at the Happy Creators Collective, as we learned about the dimensions of color, and added color & shading to our characters.

Here is my "Eduard the Artsy Eggplant" character in full color!

I want to put him on a t-shirt that says "Color Me Happy" 😊

Our members found this lesson transformational too.

Here is what Elizabeth said (she is the creator of the adorable baker girl below):

Tonight's LIVE Masterclass was the eye opener I needed. My mind was blown at how Tatyana broke it all down and helped me understand how to use the different controls of hue, saturation, and value.

If you want to get a solid understanding of the dimensions of color (and never struggle with color choices again), I sincerely invite you to join us at the Happy Creators Collective!

This lesson is ready to watch in your member area 😊

R: Resource

If you need a creative "pick me up", I highly recommend this book.

It's an illustrated series of 10 short essays on creative mindset.

For example: "Validation is for parking" 😄 Love this!!!

A: Affirmation

I've been running for exercise for years, but I recently learned about a global initiative called Parkrun, where people gather every week to do a 5K run together 😊

This week, I completed my second run.

During the first run I met a friend, and we ended up chatting for the whole run, haha. I had to walk some of it, since running and chatting can be quite challenging 😜

For my second run, I focused.

My goal was to keep running the whole time, even in the uphill parts.

I knew I can do it with some effort, cause I already completed this track, while having a deep and meaningful conversion 😆

So here is this week's affirmation:

Set yourself up for success. Set incremental goals, where you can win. And let them add up!

PS: I did it! No walking this time. Now I can build on this win.

PPS: I'll probably share more affirmations from the Parkruns, as the insights were pouring in!

W: Wonder

Here is this week's question to wonder about:

I wonder... how can I be kind to myself this week? How can I set myself up for success?

Have a beautiful week! ❤️

Warm regards,
Tatyana
